Rotkäppchen-Mumm closes 2019 with a good annual result
Germany’s leader on the sparkling wine market, Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut), announces a total turnover of EUR 1.114 billion for 2019 (previous year: EUR 1.085 billion Euro, an increase of 2.7 per cent) and total sales of 310 million bottles (previous year: 278 million bottles, an increase of 11.7 per cent).
Christof Queisser, chairman of the Executive Board at Rotkäppchen-Mumm, states, ‘The year 2019 was a good one for us. We were able to achieve positive developments in turnover and sales.’ In 2019, Rotkäppchen-Mumm recorded total sales of 310.4 million bottles, divided between three categories:
Sparkling wine and similar: 193.4 million bottles (previous year: 184 million bottles)
Wine: 54.3 million bottles (previous year: 41 million bottles)
Spirits: 62.7 million bottles (previous year: 53 million bottles)
In 2019, the total turnover was EUR 1.114 billion (including sparkling wine and alcohol tax, without VAT). The market share of the German sparkling wine market was 51.6 per cent in 2019. (2018: 53.9 per cent). The market share of the spirits market in the German food retail sector was 7.8 per cent in 2019 (2018: 9.4 per cent). The number of employees across all locations in 2019 was 952, including 43 trainees (previous year: 870 // 43). Overall, EUR 12.6 million was invested in locations in Germany and Italy.
