Christof Queisser, Chair of the Management Board of Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut), presents the largest turnover in the company’s history at this year’s annual financial statement press conference in Leipzig. The German leader in sparkling wine recorded a total turnover of EUR 1085 billion for 2018 and total sales of 278 million bottles. Rotkäppchen, the most successful sparkling wine brand, is now also the top German branded wine manufacturer.
As part of the long-planned generational change, the Purchasing division at Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut) is recruiting new personnel. After 38 years of successful employment with the German leader in the sparkling wine sector, Hannelore Jankowa, director of central purchasing, will retire in 2019.
The acquisition of the Bremen-based Eggers & Franke Group by Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut) was successfully completed at the beginning of May 2018. The previous management team at Eggers & Franke will continue the successful development of the traditional company in Bremen. The team will be consolidated through the addition of nationally and internationally renowned brand specialist Torsten Helbig, who will be assuming the reins of Eggers & Franke Holding as managing director.

On May 1st 2018 Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, a global leader in the production of sparkling wine, spirits and wine will acquire the Eggers & Franke Group, one of Germany’s leading providers of high-quality wines and spirits. The acquisition is still subject to the approval by the German antitrust authorities.
On 8 September 2017, the shareholders’ meeting for Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut) endorsed the existing three-member advisory board – Gunter Heise (Chair), Petra Roller and Dr Karl Brings – for another four years.

According to Christof Queisser, chairman of the Executive Board, the total earnings for the year of Germany’s market leader in sparkling wine were determined by significant increases in sales and revenue, further expansion of the market position in Germany as well as innovation, which is appreciated by the consumer. The successful implementation of the long-term company strategy was reflected in the convincing numbers of the 2016 balance sheet: powerful brands, successful novelties, expansion of internationalisation measures and innovative technology made key contributions to the continued and future-oriented growth of Rotkäppchen-Mumm.
Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, a family-owned German company established in 1856, has acquired Ruggeri, one of the leading and best known Italian prosecco producers. Ruggeri, also a family-owned company, is located in Valdobbiadene, the heart of Veneto.
On aggregate, the strong Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien brands of sparkling wine, wine, spirits and (semi-)sparkling wine-based drinks in FY 2015 once again showed the best result in sales and turnover since the MBO in 1993.
